Mayank has been a successful dentist for 24 years and has been the proud owner and lead dentist of Affordable Dentists for 12 years. Mayanks’ caring, approachable and relaxed manner ensures patients feel comfortable and at ease. To ensure he is available to all of his patients, Mayank works between his practices in Northcross and Birkenhead. Mayank is highly skilled in all facets of dentistry but has special interests in aesthetic dentistry, smile design and is a certified Invisalign provider.

Raised in the beautiful city of Napier from the age of 2, Ahmad grew up to be a massive foodie and football enthusiast. Somewhere along the way he found the wonderful world of dentistry and hasn’t looked back since.

He believes in treating patients with compassion, empathy, using his skills and knowledge to provide quality tailored ethical treatment to suit everyone's needs.

Ahmad graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Otago University in 2014 and has completed the graduate programme for the New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (NZACD) at the end of 2019.

He is now serving as an Executive Board Member of the NZACD.

Originally from South Korea, Dr. Jae moved to New Zealand with his kiwi wife ( also a dentist From Otago). Jae graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and received a further 4-year specialist training and PhD

Jae also worked in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department where he trained to manage oral-maxillofacial traumas and assist in orthognathic and reconstructive surgeries and general anaesthesia surgeries for patients with special needs hence his in interest in surgical wisdom tooth extractions, and dental implants. Jae has a kind and gentle manner and is always attentive to patients needs

Jae has also served in the U.S. Army (Camp Humphreys) as a combat medic to provide medical support for the battalion.

He has two toddler daughters and on his day off, he is most likely to be found in the local library or at the beach with his girls. An enthusiastic tennis player playing in the interclub matches for his local team on the shore.

Graduating from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Tayne is a skilled practitioner that loves helping people of all ages and backgrounds. She provides quality dentistry while ensuring her patients are understood, listened to and well informed. Taynes' bubbly and caring demeanour alongside her dedication to oral health care will ensure the optimal patient experience.

Tayne is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, and regularly attends conferences to keep up to date with the most contemporary dental techniques and research.

Outside of work she enjoys travelling, cooking, playing the odd game of touch and spending time with her family. If you are lucky, you may even catch her singing!!

Dr. Yoo Been Ahn was born in South Korea and her family moved to New Zealand when she was 11 years old. She has lived in Auckland mostly since. After graduating from University of Otago with Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction), she continued to study for a Masters in Preventive and Public Health Dentistry to pursue her passion in promoting oral health for the wider public.

She was involved in multiple government-led researches and many of her studies were published in prestigious medical and dental journals. She also delivered presentations at international conferences such as the European Public Health Association Conference. She taught students at dental school before she began working in private clinics.

With her expertise in preventive and public health dentistry, she endeavours to provide preventive and minimally invasive treatments for patients of all ages. With a keen eye for aesthetics, she is passionate about delivering nice smiles to patients’ faces.

She met her husband at the dental school who is also a public health dentist and the couple is married with two little girls. Yoo Been speaks English, Korean and Japanese.

Dr. Belinda Hsu graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (Distinction) in 2013. She has since worked in various different roles including that of a Dental House Officer (Oral Health Unit and Maxillofacial Surgery Service, Auckland Region DHBs), Clinical Tutor / Professional Practice Fellow (Faculty of Dentistry, University of Otago) and general dental practitioner in private practice.

Belinda strives to deliver quality care and experience to all her patients. She believes in a patient-centric approach to dental care – engaging patients, providing knowledge, and allowing individuals to make well-informed choices for their oral health. She is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Belinda is a member of the New Zealand Dental Association and New Zealand Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Farhad joined Affordable dentists as Oral Health Therapist in June 2018. He graduated from Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in 2009 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health. This qualifies him to treat adults of all ages for Hygiene treatment as well as to treat children up to the age of 18 years.

He has gained experience working in New Zealand and in Australia.

Farhad is very experienced in treating Periodontal disease (gum disease) and educating his patients about their Oral Hygiene. His friendly, caring and kind nature allows him to make every patient feel comfortable during Hygiene treatment.

Outside of work, Farhad likes to keep fit by going to the gym, playing cricket and spending time with family and friends.

Lauren Ward is our in house hygienist

Meet our ‘Hu-Friedy Golden Scaler Award’ winner Lauren Ward. This award is given for demonstration of highest standard in Dental hygiene treatment and Oral Heath Therapy. She works full time as Hygienist and Oral Health Therapist. During her appointments Lauren focuses strongly on explaining all procedures to her patients to ensure they feel comfortable and at ease.

Growing up, she lived on a dairy farm in New Plymouth, Taranaki, and then moved to Auckland to further her studies in a dental career. Outside of work, Lauren enjoys being active, travelling and surrounding herself with her family and friends

Lauren can provide complete oral hygiene procedures (scale and polish), whitening, fluoride treatment, splints, guards, checkup and filling for adolescents under 13 years of age.

Meet our Oral Health Therapist, Angie Ong

Angie graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health from Auckland University of Technology (AUT).

Her academic awards include the Annette King Trophy for the best overall academic achievement in the Oral Health Papers, The Colgate Oral Care Academic Achievement Prize for the highest average mark in Year 1-3; The AUT Citizenship Award for significant contribution to AUT, the Oral Health Department and the community and The Wolters Kluwer Oral Health Promotion Prize for outstanding achievement and understanding of Oral Health Promotion methodologies.

She does hygiene treatments for patients of all ages and also does fillings, extractions, and preventive dentistry for patients under 18 years old. She is passionate about educating patients on their oral health issues so that they are able to better care for themselves. She is caring, gentle and has a good sense of humour that makes patients feel at ease.

Dr. Kelly is a caring dental practitioner who is dedicated to providing a pleasant experience at the dentist for all of her patients. Her gentle and patient-centred approach helps patients of all ages feel more comfortable, including young children.

Dr. Kelly works together with her patients to ensure they are able to understand what is going on and make a well-informed treatment plan that is beneficial to them. She enjoys all areas of dentistry and is committed to providing excellent general care.

Prior to returning to her home town in Auckland, Kelly worked in Balclutha, a small town in the lower South Island.
